Vision
Vision of the Department of Postal Services is to become a modern and flexible organization that has financial and administrative autonomy so that it can respond comfortably to requirement of citizens and to deal effectively with competition, both locally as well as internationally.
2. Mission
The mission of the Department is the safe and fast handling and delivery of postal items, in both urban and rural areas of the Republic at affordable prices and quality levels laid down by the relevant Community and national legislation.
3. Objectives
• Strengthening competitiveness in view of the forthcoming liberalization of the market.
• Improve the quality of
services provided to meet the quality objectives set by the Commissioner of
Electronic Communications and Postal Services.
• Introduction of new high
quality products and services that meet current but also on the anticipated
needs of the citizen.
• Introduction of information
technology and / or upgrade existing ones to accelerate the postal work while
enabling direct access to a range of information useful for monitoring the
quality of service and requirements of the postal market.
• More effective management of
human resources by establishing measurable performance levels to increase
productivity and implementation of relevant targets.
• Enhancing the image of the
Cyprus Post as a provider of quality, reliable, fast and secure services at
affordable prices.
4. Provided postal service
The Postal Services Department provides postal services in both urban and rural areas through a network of 57 Post Offices, three of which are seasonal, 1,110 Postal agencies and 970 road mailboxes. In all post offices no satisfactory access for people with disabilities.
The Department provides all basic postal services such as letter mail, parcel service, international courier service EMS / Datapost, economic and philatelic services, while sells various postal products.
The Department is required to be collected and distribute at least five working days a week, throughout the Republic all postal items (letter mail) to 2 Kg, and postal parcels up to 20 Kg. The distribution also includes cases where the delivery of items is at Post Offices and Agencies.
5. Postal Code
The Postal Code (PC) is a necessary complement each correct mailing address. Installation and operation, from April 2001, the sorting machine, the inclusion of PC is essential for rapid screening and safe delivery of postal items. The usefulness of the Code, unless an easy and safe verification of the destination of the mail, it provides an opportunity for citizens they post large volume of mail and do their own pre-sorting, benefit discounts up to 30 %.
